The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade the use of the naqir, the muzaffat, and the dubba.
حدثنا هاشم حدثنا أبو خيثمة حدثنا أبو الزبير
أن رسول الله ﷺ نهى عن النقير والمزفت والدباء
Its isnad is sahih. Abu Khaythama is Zuhayr bin Muawiya, whose reliability was established earlier at 786, and we add here the statement of Shuayb bin Harb, "Zuhayr had a better memory than twenty like Shubah," and the statement of Ahmad, "He was among the sources of truthfulness," and Bukhari mentioned him in al-Kabir 1/391.The hadith was already given at length by the route of Ibn Jurayj, from Abu Zubayr, from Jabir and Abdullah bin Umar, at 4914.
