I was sitting with Ibn Umar when a man came and asked him about the blood of mosquitoes.Ibn Umar asked him, "Where are you from?"The man replied, "I am from the people of Iraq."Ibn Umar said, "Look at this one, asking me about the blood of mosquitoes when they have killed the son of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'They are my two sweet basils from this world.'"

كنت جالسا عند ابن عمر فجاءه رجل يسأل عن دم البعوض فقال له ابن عمر ممن أنت قال أنا من أهل العراق قال انظروا إلى هذا يسألني عن دم البعوض وقد قتلوا ابن رسول الله ﷺ وقد سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول هما ريحانتي من الدنيا
