The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "When one of you dies, his place is shown to him morning and evening. If he is among the people of Paradise, then from the people of Paradise, and if he is among the people of the Fire, then from the people of the Fire. It is said to him, 'This is your place until Allah resurrects you to it on the Day of Resurrection.'"
حدثنا إسحاق أخبرني مالك عن نافع
قال رسول الله ﷺ إن أحدكم إذا مات عرض عليه مقعده بالغداة والعشي إن كان من أهل الجنة فمن أهل الجنة وإن كان من أهل النار فمن أهل النار فيقال هذا مقعدك حتى يبعثك الله إليه يوم القيامة
Its chain of transmission is sahih, and it is in the Muwatta 1:237, 238. It has already appeared through the narration of Ubaydullah from Nafi at 4658, and both Bukhari and Muslim narrated it there, and also through the route of Ayub from Nafi at 5119, and it has already appeared in abbreviated form through the narration of Fudayl bin Ghazwan from Nafi at 5234.
