There was a palm-tree trunk in the mosque against which the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to lean his back on Fridays, or whenever some matter arose that he wished to address the people about.The companions said, "Messenger of Allah, shall we make you something the height of your standing position?"He replied, "It is up to you if you wish to do so."So they made him a pulpit with three steps, and he sat upon it. The trunk then began to moan like a cow moans, grieving for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He embraced it and stroked it until it fell silent.
حدثنا حسين حدثنا خلف عن أبي جناب عن أبيه
كان جذع نخلة في المسجد يسند رسول الله ﷺ ظهره إليه إذا كان يوم جمعة أو حدث أمر يريد أن يكلم الناس فقالوا ألا نجعل لك يا رسول الله شيئا كقدر قيامك قال لا عليكم أن تفعلوا فصنعوا له منبرا ثلاث مراق قال فجلس عليه قال فخار الجذع كما تخور البقرة جزعا على رسول الله ﷺ فالتزمه ومسحه حتى سكن
