Its isnad is sahih. Muhammad bin Abu Bakr Muqaddami, with the doubling and fatha on the plain dal, is trustworthy. Ibn Main, Abu Zura, and others deemed him trustworthy, and he is among the teachers of Bukhari and Muslim. Bukhari gave his biography in al-Kabir, 1/1/49.This Muqaddami was a contemporary of Imam Ahmad, so his narration from him here is a case of a narration between contemporaries. Ibn Jawzi did not mention him among the teachers of Ahmad, so this should be noted as an addition to his work. We mentioned in the commentary on hadith 424 our preference for the view that Ahmad did not narrate from him. But that was in relation to that particular hadith, contrary to what appears in L, meaning. Here, however, the three source manuscripts agree that Ahmad narrated from him, and this hadith is a repetition of the one before it. It is established in the margin of M on the assumption that it is an addition found in some copies.
