The Prophet ﷺ went out on the day of Eid and began by leading the prayer without any adhan or iqamah, then he delivered the sermon.
حدثنا علي بن عبد الله حدثنا حصين يعني ابن نمير أبو محصن
أن النبي ﷺ خرج يوم عيد فبدأ فصلى بلا أذان ولا إقامة ثم خطب
Its isnad is sahih. Ali bin Abdullah is Ibn Madini, the imam, one of the peers of Ahmad. Husayn bin Numayr, Abu Mihsan, with the mim vowelled with a kasra, the ha silent, and the sad vowelled with a fatha, both unpointed letters, the Wasiti, the blind one, is trustworthy. He was deemed trustworthy by Abu Zura, Ajli, and others, and Bukhari gave his biography in al-Kabir 2/1/10. Fadl bin Atiya bin Amr bin Khalid, the Marwazi, the Khurasani, is trustworthy. He was deemed trustworthy by Ibn Main, Ibn Rahawayh, Abu Dawud, and others, and Bukhari gave his biography in al-Kabir 4/1/116, and Ibn Abu Hatim in al-Jarh wal-Tadil 3/2/64. See also 4968 and 5636.5871 M - He said, and Ataa narrated to me from Jabir, the like of that. Sahih (M5871). Its isnad is sahih, and it is attached to the preceding isnad. Fadl bin Atiya, with that same isnad, says, and Ataa narrated to me from Jabir, the like of that. Ataa here is Ibn Abu Rabah. Jabir is Ibn Abdullah al-Ansari, the companion. His hadith on this subject will come again in his musnad repeatedly, at length and in brief, at 14379, 14421, 14472, 14473, 15116, 15146, and 15162. It was also narrated by the two Shaykhs and others. See also Nasb Raya 2/22.We have given this hadith a number that duplicates the one before it, since we had not given it its own separate number previously, though it deserved one, being a different hadith from a different companion other than Ibn Umar, even though it shares its isnad up to Fadl bin Atiya with it.
