He asked Tawsa about drinks, and Tawsa informed him on the authority of Ibn Umar that the Prophet ﷺ forbade the use of clay jars and gourds.

Its chain of transmission is sahih. Bakkar bin Abdullah bin Sahwak Sanani Abnawi is trustworthy, graded so by Ahmad, Ibn Main, and others. He is covered in Tajil (page 54), where his grandfather's name is given as Wahb. Then the Hafiz relates that Ibn Hibban named his grandfather Shihab, and that Bukhari and Ibn Abu Hatim did not mention his grandfather's name at all. I consider it more likely that the word Shihab is a distortion of Sahwak, which is established in Bakkar's biography in Ibn Saad's Tabaqat (5:398). This Bakkar was covered by Bukhari in Tarikh al-Kabir (1/2/120, 121).Khallad bin Abdul-Rahman bin Junda Sanani Abnawi is trustworthy, graded so by Abu Zura and others. Bukhari covered him in Tarikh al-Kabir (2/1/172), and reported praise of him on the authority of Mamar.Junda is vocalized with a damma on the jim and a sukoon on the nun, as recorded in Qamus and its commentary, under the entry jund. The Hafiz did not vocalize it in Tahdhib, nor in Taqrib, and it is written in Tajil, in the biography of Bakkar bin Abdullah, as al-Junda, which is a scribal or printing error. Sanani is clear, but in the commentary on Qamus (2:326) it appears as Saghani, which is an error, and its editor noted the correct reading in the footnote, citing Takmila. The hadith is repeated at 5764, see also 5819.
