He saw Abdullah bin Umar performing voluntary prayer on his mount facing a direction other than the qiblah, so he asked, "What is this, Abu Abdul-Rahman?"He replied, "The Prophet of Allah ﷺ used to do this."

أنه أبصر عبد الله بن عمر يصلي على راحلته لغير القبلة تطوعا فقال ما هذا يا أبا عبد الرحمن قال كان نبي الله ﷺ يفعله
