While Ibn Umar was making tawaf around the House, a man approached him and said, "Abu Abdul-Rahman, how did you hear the Prophet ﷺ describe the private conversation between Allah and the believer?"Ibn Umar replied, "The believer will be brought close to his Lord on the Day of Resurrection like a young lamb. Allah will place His shelter over him, concealing him, and then ask, 'Do you acknowledge this sin?' He will answer, 'My Lord, I acknowledge it.' Allah will ask again, 'Do you acknowledge this sin?' He will answer, 'My Lord, I acknowledge it.' Then Allah will say, 'I concealed it for you in the world, and today I forgive it for you.' Then he will be handed the record of his good deeds.As for the disbelievers and the hypocrites, they will be called out before all the witnesses, 'These are the ones who lied against their Lord. Indeed, the curse of Allah is upon the wrongdoers.'"Saeed said that Qatada commented, "No one was disgraced that day in such a way that his disgrace remained hidden from any of the creation."
حدثنا عبد الوهاب بن عطاء أخبرنا سعيد عن قتادة
بينما ابن عمر يطوف بالبيت إذ عرضه رجل فقال يا أبا عبد الرحمن كيف سمعت النبي ﷺ يقول في النجوى قال يدنو المؤمن من ربه يوم القيامة كأنه بذج فيضع عليه كنفه أي يستره ثم يقول أتعرف فيقول رب أعرف ثم يقول أتعرف فيقول رب أعرف فيقول أنا سترتها عليك في الدنيا وأنا أغفرها لك اليوم ويعطى صحيفة حسناته وأما الكفار والمنافقون فينادى بهم على رءوس الأشهاد هؤلاء الذين كذبوا على ربهم ألا لعنة الله على الظالمين قال سعيد وقال قتادة فلم يخز يومئذ أحد فخفي خزيه على أحد من الخلائق
Its isnad is sahih. Saeed here is Ibn Abu Aruba. This hadith is a repetition of 6529 with the same meaning, except that the statement of Qatada given as his own view at the end of this narration was not mentioned there.Al-Bahm, with fatha on the ba and sakin on the ha, ending in mim, means the young of sheep, though it has also been said to refer to the weakest of them. Its plural is al-Buhman, with damma on the ba and sakin on the ha. Ibn Athir said, it is as though it is derived from balduh, meaning from humbleness, that is, it covers him. In the version marked (k), it reads, that is, it covers him.As for his saying the first time, "My Lord, I recognize," in the marginal copy of (k) it reads, "That is, my Lord, I recognize."The added word [meaning] we have inserted from (k) and (m).
