Ayesha was negotiating to buy Barirah when the Prophet ﷺ left for the prayer. When he returned, she said, "They refused to sell her to me unless they could stipulate that the right of guardianship would remain with them."The Prophet ﷺ said, "The right of guardianship belongs only to the one who frees the slave."
