Ayub reported from Nafi from Ibn Umar that the Prophet ﷺ prayed Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, and Isha at al-Batha, then took a brief rest there, then entered Mecca. Ibn Umar used to do the same.
حدثنا عفان حدثنا حماد بن سلمة أخبرنا حميد عن بكر بن عبد الله
وأيوب عن نافع عن ابن عمر أن النبي ﷺ صلى الظهر والعصر والمغرب والعشاء بالبطحاء ثم هجع بها هجعة ثم دخل مكة فكان ابن عمر يفعله
Two sahih chains. The one who says "and Ayub, from Nafi" is Hammad bin Salama, for he narrated it from his maternal uncle Humayd Tawil from Bakr bin Abdullah, and he also narrated it from Ayub from Nafi, both of them from Ibn Umar. The hadith has already passed as number 4828 by the route of Hammad from Humayd from Bakr, in abridged form. This longer version is in al-Muntaqa 2655, where it is said, "Ahmad, Abu Dawud, and Bukhari narrated it with the same meaning." As for "Ibn Umar was," in a copy in the margin of M it reads "and he was."
