We met the enemy, and the Muslims were routed in a sudden retreat. I was among those who fled, and we entered Madinah.We presented ourselves before the Messenger of Allah ﷺ as he came out for prayer and said, "Messenger of Allah, we are the runaways."He replied, "No, rather you are the ones who return to fight. I am your rallying force."

لقينا العدو فحاص المسلمون حيصة فكنت فيمن حاص فدخلنا المدينة قال فتعرضنا لرسول الله ﷺ حين خرج للصلاة فقلنا يا رسول الله نحن الفرارون قال لا بل أنتم العكارون إني فئة لكم
