I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "O Allah, curse so-and-so. O Allah, curse Harith bin Hisham. O Allah, curse Suhayl bin Amr. O Allah, curse Safwan bin Umaya."Then this verse was revealed, "Not for you, [O Muhammad, but for Allah], is the decision whether He should [cut them down] or forgive them or punish them, for indeed, they are wrongdoers" [Al Imran 3:128].He said, "And they were all granted repentance."

سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول اللهم العن فلانا اللهم العن الحارث بن هشام اللهم العن سهيل بن عمرو اللهم العن صفوان بن أمية قال فنزلت هذه الآية {ليس لك من الأمر شيء أو يتوب عليهم أو يعذبهم فإنهم ظالمون} قال فتيب عليهم كلهم
Its isnad is sahih. Ibn Kathir cited it in his Tafsir, 2:238, from this passage of the Musnad, and before it he mentioned a similar narration from Bukhari through the route of Mamar, from Zuhri, from Salim, from his father, then he also attributed it to Nasai, and then he mentioned other similar narrations from Bukhari as well. Suyuti also mentioned it in Durr Manthur, 2:71, attributing it to Ahmad, Bukhari, Tirmidhi, Nasai, Ibn Jareer, and Bayhaqi in Dalail. This supplication was part of the qunut of Fajr, recited after raising the head from ruku in the second rakat.
