The Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood at Arafah and said, "This is the standing place, and all of Arafah is a standing place." He set off when the sun had set, with Usama riding behind him. He rode his camel at a steady pace while the people were striking their mounts right and left. He turned toward them and said, "Calmly, people."Then he came to Jam (Muzdalifah) and led them in the two prayers, Maghrib and Isha. He spent the night there until morning. Then he came to Quzah and stood upon it and said, "This is the standing place, and all of Jam is a standing place."Then he proceeded until he reached Muhassir, where he stopped, struck his she-camel, and she trotted until she crossed the valley. Then he held her back. He took Fadl up behind him and continued on until he reached the Jamrah, where he threw the pebbles. Then he came to the place of sacrifice and said, "This is the place of sacrifice, and all of Mina is a place of sacrifice."A young woman from Khathaam consulted him and said, "Messenger of Allah, my father is an old man, frail with age, and the obligation of Hajj prescribed by Allah has come upon him. Is it sufficient for him that I perform it on his behalf?"He said, "Yes, perform it on behalf of your father."He had turned Fadl's neck away, so Abbas said to him, "Messenger of Allah, why did you turn the neck of your cousin?"He replied, "I saw a young man and a young woman, and I did not feel safe from Satan regarding them."Then a man came to him and said, "Messenger of Allah, I shaved before I sacrificed."He said, "Sacrifice, and there is no harm."Then another came to him and said, "Messenger of Allah, I performed the Tawaf al-Ifadah before I shaved."He said, "Shave or shorten your hair, and there is no harm."Then he came to the House and circled it. Then he came to Zamzam and said, "Sons of Abdul-Muttalib, this is your duty of providing water. Were it not that the people would overwhelm you in this task, I would have drawn water with you."
