The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The upper hand is better than the lower hand. The upper hand is the one that gives, and the lower hand is the one that asks."
حدثنا عتاب حدثنا عبد الله أخبرنا موسى بن عقبة عن نافع
قال رسول الله ﷺ اليد العليا خير من اليد السفلى اليد العليا المنفقة واليد السفلى السائلة
Its isnad is sahih. Attab is Ibn Zayd al-Khurasani. Abdullah is Ibn Mubarak. Part of the meaning of this hadith has already appeared at 4474, where we noted that it was narrated by Bukhari, Muslim, Abu Dawud, and Nasai.
