The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Women, give in charity and give abundantly, for I have seen that you make up the majority of the people of Hell, because of your frequent cursing and your ingratitude toward your husbands. I have never seen anyone more capable of overcoming a sensible man than you, despite your deficiency in intellect and religion."A woman asked, "Messenger of Allah, what is this deficiency in intellect and religion?"He replied, "As for the deficiency in intellect, the testimony of two women equals the testimony of one man, that is the deficiency in intellect. And she spends nights without praying and breaks her fast during Ramadan, that is the deficiency in religion."
Its chain of transmission is sahih. What I consider more likely is that his statement, "and another time he said Haywa," does not mean that Harun bin Maruf reported it once from Ibn Wahb and once from Haywa bin Shurayh, for Harun bin Maruf never met Haywa. Harun was born in the year 157, and Haywa died in the year 158 or 159.Rather, what is meant is that Ibn Wahb would sometimes narrate the hadith with a break in the chain, mentioning it from Ibn Hadi without mentioning the intermediary, and at other times he would connect it, mentioning the intermediary between them, who is Haywa bin Shurayh. This is supported by the fact that he also narrated it from Ibn Hadi through a different intermediary, for in one of the two versions Muslim gives of this hadith, it comes through the route of Ibn Wahb from Bakr bin Mansur from Ibn Hadi.Ibn Wahb is Abdullah bin Wahb bin Muslim, the jurist from Egypt. He is a trustworthy imam. Ahmad said, "Ibn Wahb had intellect, religion, and righteousness," and he also said, "His hadith is sahih." The imams Ibn Main, Ibn Saad, and others confirmed his reliability. This hadith was narrated by Muslim (1:35) through the route of Layth bin Saad from Ibn Hadi, with this same chain and similarly. Something of similar meaning has already appeared several times from the hadith of Ibn Masud, the last instance being 4152, and something similar will also come from the hadith of Abu Hurairah, 8849.
