The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade muzabanah. Nafi used to explain it as selling fruit on the tree for an estimated amount of dried dates measured by a specified measure, with the buyer saying, "If it exceeds, the surplus is mine, and if it falls short, I will make up the difference."

Its isnad is sahih, and it is an abridgment of 5297, because in this narration the tafsir of muzabanah is from the words of Nafi, and the hadith and its tafsir have already been documented in detail at 4490.
