A man performed the oath of mutual cursing against his wife and denied her child as his own. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ separated them and attached the child to his mother's lineage.
حدثنا عبد الرحمن عن مالك عن نافع
أن رجلا لاعن امرأته وانتفى من ولدها ففرق رسول الله ﷺ بينهما وألحق الولد بأمه
Its isnad is sahih, and it is a longer version of 4953 and 5202. It has already appeared with this isnad at 4527.5312m1 - [I read it to Abdul-Rahman, that a man practiced lian (mutual imprecation) against his wife during the time of the Prophet ﷺ, and also disowned the child.] Sahih (5312m1). Its isnad is sahih, and it is a repetition of what preceded it, following it in the isnad.5312m2 - [Ishaq bin Isa related to us, Malik related to us, that Nafi informed him, from Ibn Umar,] that a man practiced lian against his wife during the time of the Prophet ﷺ, and disowned her child, so the Messenger of Allah ﷺ separated the two of them and attributed the child to its mother. Sahih (5312m2). Its isnad is sahih, and it is also a repetition of what preceded it.These two hadiths are established in manuscript m only, at this location, so we have included them as an addition, giving them the number of the hadith preceding them, along with a notation indicating that the number is repeated twice, since we were unable to change the numbers we had established long ago in the first printed edition, h, from the beginning of our work on it, more than twenty years ago.
