The Messenger of Allah ﷺ made the charity of Fitr obligatory, a saa of dates or a saa of barley, upon every male and female, free person and slave among the Muslims.
حدثنا عبد الرحمن عن مالك عن نافع
فرض رسول الله ﷺ صدقة الفطر صاعا من تمر أو صاعا من شعير عن كل ذكر وأنثى وحر وعبد من المسلمين
Its isnad is sahih. It is found in the Muwatta 1:268, but a sa of dates is not mentioned there, which is a printing error in the edition printed together with the commentary of Suyuti, because it is established in Zurqani 2:79, 80, and in the edition of the Muwatta printed in Tunis in the year 1280, pages 100-101, and in two manuscripts of the Muwatta in my possession, one of them being the copy of Shaykh Abid Sindi. The hadith has already appeared through a route other than that of Malik, both at length and in brief, 4486, 5174. "For every male," in copy M it reads "upon every male."
