I asked Ibn Umar, "Was nabidh prepared in earthen jars forbidden?"He replied, "So they claim."I said, "Who claimed that, the Prophet ﷺ?"He said, "So they claim."I said, "Abu Abdul-Rahman, did you yourself hear it from the Prophet ﷺ?"He said, "So they claim."The narrator said, Allah Almighty turned him away from me that day. If one of them was asked, "Did you yourself hear it from the Prophet ﷺ?" he would become angry and turn on his questioner.

سألت ابن عمر فقلت أنهي عن نبيذ الجر فقال قد زعموا ذاك فقلت من زعم ذاك النبي ﷺ قال زعموا ذاك فقلت يا أبا عبد الرحمن أنت سمعته من النبي ﷺ قال قد زعموا ذاك قال فصرفه الله تعالى عني يومئذ وكان أحدهم إذا سئل أنت سمعته من النبي ﷺ غضب ثم هم بصاحبه
