A man from Quraysh used to be cheated in his transactions. This was mentioned to the Prophet ﷺ, so the Prophet ﷺ told him, "Say, 'No deception.'"
حدثنا محمد بن جعفر حدثنا شعبة عن عبد الله بن دينار سمعت
كان رجل من قريش يغبن في البيع فذكر ذلك للنبي ﷺ فقال له النبي ﷺ قل لا خلابة
Its isnad is sahih. It is in Muntaqa 2875, which also attributes it to the two Shaykhs [Bukhari and Muslim]. See also what has passed in Musnad Ibn Masud 4125.Khilabah, with a short vowel under the kha and a light lam, means gentle deception. Ibn Athir said, "It occurs in one narration as 'la khiyabah,' with a ya, which appears to be a lisp from the narrator who substituted the lam with a ya."
