The Prophet of Allah ﷺ said, "I do not eat it, nor do I order it, nor do I forbid it."
حدثنا محمد بن جعفر حدثنا شعبة عن يعلى بن حكيم عن نافع
أن نبي الله ﷺ قال لا آكله ولا آمر به ولا أنهى عنه
Its isnad is sahih, and it is an abridgment of 5004. Here in the margin of M there is a note reading, "This refers to garlic and onion," and something similar appears in the margin of H, citing some manuscript copies. I consider this to be a mistake, for the Messenger of Allah forbade eating garlic and onion unless the eater killed their smell by cooking, and he forbade anyone who had eaten them from entering the masjid. But the hadith reported from him was actually about this lizard, as has already come up several times in the hadith of Ibn Umar, 4497, 4562, 4573, 4619, 4882, 5004.
