Its isnad is sahih. Sulayman is Ibn Mihran Amash. The hadith was narrated by Muslim 1:129 through Abu Muawiya, from Amash. Its meaning has already appeared from another route, from Mujahid, 4933, and we pointed to this there."They take it as a means of deception" means they deceive people with it and use it covertly to carry out what they want. The root of daghal, with the first letter (dal) unvoweled with fatha and the ghayn also with fatha, refers to the dense entangled trees in which people bent on corruption hide themselves.
