Ibn Umar saw a poor man, so he drew him close and placed food before him. The man began eating a great deal. Ibn Umar said to me, "Do not let this man come in to me again, for I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'The disbeliever eats in seven intestines.'"
حدثنا محمد بن جعفر حدثنا شعبة عن واقد بن محمد بن زيد أنه
رأى ابن عمر مسكينا فجعل يدنيه ويضع بين يديه فجعل يأكل أكلا كثيرا فقال لي لا تدخلن هذا علي فإني سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول إن الكافر يأكل في سبعة أمعاء
Its isnad is sahih. Waqid bin Muhammad bin Zayd bin Abdullah bin Umar is the brother of Zayd and Abu Bakr, whose biographies were given in the previous hadith. He is trustworthy, deemed reliable by Ahmad, Ibn Main, Abu Dawud, and others. Bukhari gave his biography in Al-Kabir 4/2/173.Bukhari related the hadith 9:468 through Shubah by this same route, at greater length. Fath al-Bari notes that Muslim related it as well, and it has already appeared at greater length in similar form at 4718, though the story of the poor man who ate a great deal was not mentioned there.
