The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade going out to meet caravans before they reach the market, and that a town dweller sell on behalf of a desert dweller. None of you should propose marriage over the proposal of his brother until he either marries her or abandons the proposal. There is no prayer after Asr until the sun sets, nor after Fajr until the sun rises and is fully up.
Its isnad is sahih. Muslim Khayyat is Muslim bin Abu Muslim Khayyat, of Makkah, a trustworthy tabi'i. Ibn Main and others considered him trustworthy. Bukhari gave his biography in Kabir 4/2/260, and said, "He heard from Ibn Umar and Abu Hurairah, and saw Saad bin Abu Waqqas."Khabbat, with the dotted kha and the single-dotted ba, as it appears in (h) and (m), and as Dhahabi vocalized it in Mushtabih, 176. In (k) it is Khayyat, with the two-dotted ya, and this is what appears in Tarikh Bukhari and Tajil. In the margin of (m) it says that three forms are given for this Muslim, Hannat, Khabbat, and Khayyat, as stated by Uthman Dimi. Dhahabi likewise related that all three of these forms are used, the third being Hannat, with the plain ha and nun. This hadith is, in reality, four hadiths combined, the prohibition against intercepting caravans, which has already passed within hadith 4531 and passed on its own at 4738, the prohibition against a townsman selling on behalf of a nomad, which Bukhari and Nasai narrated, as noted in Muntaqa 2834, the prohibition against proposing marriage over one's brother's proposal, which has already passed within hadith 4722, and the prohibition against praying after Fajr and after Asr, of which the prohibition against praying after Fajr has already passed with two other chains at 4756 and 4771, the first of them daif and the second sahih. As for the chain given here, I have not found it in any of the references available to me, nor have I found anyone who pointed it out, so perhaps its place here in al-Musnad remained hidden from them. Its meaning has already passed in the hadith of Umar bin Khattab at 110, 118, 130, 270, 271, 355, and 364.Tudha, meaning to enter into the time of Duha.
