Nabi bin Wahb reported,

Umar bin Ubaydullah bin Muamar suffered from pain in his eyes, so he sent word to Abban bin Uthman (Sufyan said, "He was the governor at the time"), asking what he should do about them.Abban replied, "Apply aloe to them as a poultice, for I heard Uthman relate this from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ."

حدثنا سفيان بن عيينة عن أيوب بن موسى

عن نبيه بن وهب قال

اشتكى عمر بن عبيد الله بن معمر عينيه فأرسل إلى أبان بن عثمان رضي الله عنه قال سفيان وهو أمير ما يصنع بهما قال قال ضمدهما بالصبر فإني سمعت عثمان رضي الله عنه يحدث ذلك عن رسول الله ﷺ
