The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The example of the Quran, when its companion makes a covenant with it and recites it by night and by day, is like a man who owns camels. If he keeps them tethered, he retains them, but if he unties them, they wander off. Such is the case with the companion of the Quran."
حدثنا عبد الرزاق أخبرنا معمر عن أيوب عن نافع
قال رسول الله ﷺ مثل القرآن إذا عاهد عليه صاحبه فقرأه بالليل والنهار كمثل رجل له إبل فإن عقلها حفظها وإن أطلق عقلها ذهبت فكذلك صاحب القرآن
