When the Prophet ﷺ returned from Hunayn, Umar asked him about a vow he had made during the days of ignorance to perform itikaf for one day. The Prophet ﷺ instructed him to fulfill it, so Umar set out ahead of him.Umar said, "He sent with me a slave girl who had been part of his share from the captives of Hunayn." When I stopped along the way, I placed her in one of the dwellings of the bedouins. Suddenly I saw the captives of Hunayn rushing out, shouting, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ has set us free!"Umar then said to Abdullah, "Go and release her."Abdullah said, "So I went and set her free."
Its isnad is sahih. It is a longer version of 4705, concerning the story of the vow. As for the story of the captives, Ibn Ishaq narrated something similar from Nafi from Ibn Umar, as Ibn Kathir cited from him in Tarikh 4:354.
