I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbid the use of clay jars, vessels coated with pitch, and gourd containers.Abu Zubayr said, I also heard Jabir bin Abdullah say, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade the use of clay jars, vessels coated with pitch, and hollowed-out wooden containers. When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ could not find a suitable vessel in which to prepare his nabidh, it would be prepared for him in a stone basin.
حدثنا عبد الرزاق أنبأنا ابن جريج أخبرني أبو الزبير أنه
سمعت رسول الله ﷺ ينهى عن الجر والمزفت والدباء قال أبو الزبير وسمعت جابر بن عبد الله يقول نهى رسول الله ﷺ عن الجر والمزفت والنقير وكان رسول الله ﷺ إذا لم يجد شيئا ينبذ له فيه نبذ له في تور من حجارة
Both of its chains are sahih, so they are two hadiths, the hadith of Ibn Umar, which is an elaboration of the meaning of what preceded it, and the hadith of Jabir, whose meaning will come in his musnad through the narration of Abu Zubayr from him, 14317.
