Uthman said to Ibn Masud, "Will you stop what has reached me about you?"Ibn Masud offered some excuse.Uthman said, "Woe to you. I have heard and remembered, and it is not as you have heard. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'A leader will be killed, and an instigator will rise up.' I am the one who will be killed. It is not Umar
, for Umar was killed by a single man, whereas they will gather against me."

Its chain is daif due to a break in transmission. Abu Awn Ansari Shami Awar, whose name is Abdullah bin Abu Abdullah, was mentioned by Ibn Hibban among the trustworthy narrators. However, he narrates from Abu Idris Khawlani and Saeed bin Musayab, and he did not meet any of the companions. In Tahdhib, quoting Ibn Abdul-Barr, it is stated that he narrated from Uthman in mursal form.Artah bin Munzir was trustworthy and devout. Muhammad bin Kathir said, "I never saw anyone more devout, more ascetic, or in whom the fear of Allah was more evident than him."The hadith appears in Majma al-Zawaid, 7:227, where it is stated, "Ahmad narrated it, and its narrators are trustworthy." But this falls short, since it fails to mention the defect in the chain.Yabtari and mutabarri, from ibtira and tabarri, meaning to leap forward, and a person's rushing hastily toward evil. Retaining the ya in the indeclinable noun ending in a weak letter, whether in the nominative or genitive case, is permissible, contrary to what many people assume. It was omitted in ha, but retained in kaf and ha.
