The Prophet ﷺ ordered that dogs be killed, and we even killed the dog of a woman who had come from the desert.

Its isnad is sahih. Sufyan is Thawri. Ismail is Ibn Umaya al-Umawi. Muslim narrated it, 1:461, at greater length than this, through Bishr bin Mufaddal, from Ismail bin Umaya. Bukhari and Muslim and others narrated the command to kill dogs from the hadith of Malik, from Nafi, from Ibn Umar. See Fath al-Bari 6:256.
