Its isnad is sahih. Bukhari (1:409) and Muslim (2:209) narrated it through the route of Yahya from Ubaydullah. Muslim and Abu Dawud (4:380) narrated it through the route of Ayub from Nafi. Muslim also narrated it through other routes from Nafi, and in one of his narrations, Ubaydullah said, "So I asked him, and he said, 'Two villages in Syria, three nights' journey apart.'"Jarba, with fatha on the jim and sukun on the ra. Yaqut said, "It is a place belonging to the district of Amman in Balqa, in the land of Syria, near the mountains of Sarah, on the side of Hijaz."Adhruh, with fatha on the hamza, sukun on the dhal, and damma on the ra. Yaqut said, "It is the name of a town on the outskirts of Syria, belonging to the district of Sarah, then to the districts of Balqa and Amman, adjacent to the land of Hijaz."He then mentioned something indicating that between it and Jarba there is only one mile or less. In Qamus, under the root Jarab, it says, "Whoever said there are three days between them has erred." Rather, the mistake stems from the narrators of the hadith having dropped an addition that Daraqutni mentioned, which is, "The distance between the two sides of my basin is like the distance between Madinah and Jarba and Adhruh."
