Umar bin Ubaydullah bin Muamar reported,

His eye became inflamed while he was in the state of ihram, and he wanted to apply kohl to it, but Abban bin Uthman forbade him and instructed him to dress it with aloes. He claimed that Uthman had narrated from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ that he had done so.

رمدت عينه وهو محرم فأراد أن يكحلها فنهاه أبان بن عثمان رضي الله عنه وأمره أن يضمدها بالصبر وزعم أن عثمان رضي الله عنه حدث عن رسول الله ﷺ أنه فعل ذلك
