They mentioned the case of a man who enters the state of ihram for an Umra and then exits ihram. Is it permissible for him to be intimate with his wife before he completes the saee between Safa and Marwa?We asked Jabir bin Abdullah, who replied, "No, not until he performs the saee between Safa and Marwa."We also asked Ibn Umar, who answered, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ arrived and circled the House seven times, prayed two rakahs behind the Station, and performed the saee between Safa and Marwa." Then he recited, "Indeed, in the Messenger of Allah you have an excellent example" [Ahzab 33:21].
حدثنا سفيان قال
ذكروا الرجل يهل بعمرة فيحل هل له أن يأتي يعني امرأته قبل أن يطوف بين الصفا والمروة فسألنا جابر بن عبد الله فقال لا حتى يطوف بالصفا والمروة وسألنا ابن عمر فقال قدم رسول الله ﷺ فطاف بالبيت سبعا فصلى خلف المقام ركعتين وسعى بين الصفا والمروة ثم قال {لقد كان لكم في رسول الله أسوة حسنة}
Its isnad is sahih. Bukhari related it in full, 1:418-419, through Sufyan, that is Ibn Uyayna, from Amr bin Dinar. Muslim related from it, 1:353, only Ibn Umar's question and its answer, without mentioning Jabir's question. He related it through Sufyan bin Uyayna from Amr bin Dinar as well, then something similar through Hammad bin Zayd and Ibn Jurayj from Amr bin Dinar.
