He used to walk briskly for three rounds and walk normally for four, claiming that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to do so. He would walk normally between the two corners. He said, "He only walked between them to make it easier to touch the corner."
حدثنا يحيى عن عبيد الله أخبرني نافع
أنه كان يرمل ثلاثا ويمشي أربعا ويزعم أن رسول الله ﷺ كان يفعله وكان يمشي ما بين الركنين قال إنما كان يمشي ما بينهما ليكون أيسر لاستلامه
Its isnad is sahih. Its meaning was narrated by the two Shaykhs, as in al-Muntaqa 2524-2526. Part of its meaning has already passed in the hadith of Ibn Abbas, see 2029, and what we pointed to in the supplement, 299.
