The Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered the mosque of Banu Amr bin Awf, the mosque of Quba, to pray in it. Some men of the Ansar came in to greet him with the salam, and Suhayb entered along with him.I asked Suhayb, "How did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ respond when people greeted him with the salam?"He replied, "He would gesture with his hand."Sufyan said, I told a man, "Ask Zayd whether he heard this from Abdullah," for I myself was reluctant to ask him.So the man said, "Abu Usama, did you hear this from Abdullah bin Umar?"He answered, "As for me, I saw him and spoke with him directly."

دخل رسول الله ﷺ مسجد بني عمرو بن عوف مسجد قباء يصلي فيه فدخلت عليه رجال الأنصار يسلمون عليه ودخل معه صهيب فسألت صهيبا كيف كان رسول الله ﷺ يصنع إذا سلم عليه قال يشير بيده قال سفيان قلت لرجل سل زيدا أسمعته من عبد الله وهبت أنا أن أسأله فقال يا أبا أسامة سمعته من عبد الله بن عمر قال أما أنا فقد رأيته فكلمته
