A man asked, "Messenger of Allah, what should a person in the state of ihram wear?" Or he said, "What should a person in ihram avoid?"He replied, "He should not wear a shirt, trousers, a turban, or leather socks, unless he cannot find sandals, in which case he may wear the leather socks but should cut them below the ankles. He should not wear a hooded cloak, nor any garment touched by wars dye or saffron."

أن رجلا قال يا رسول الله ما يلبس المحرم أو قال ما يترك المحرم فقال لا يلبس القميص ولا السراويل ولا العمامة ولا الخفين إلا أن لا يجد نعلين فمن لم يجد نعلين فليلبسهما أسفل من الكعبين ولا البرنس ولا شيئا من الثياب مسه ورس ولا زعفران
