Abdullah bin Abdul-Rahman reported,

Uthman bin Affan prayed four full units of prayer at Mina, and the people criticized him for it. He said, "People, I have taken a wife in Makkah since arriving here, and I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'Whoever takes a wife in a land should pray as a resident.'"

أن عثمان بن عفان رضي الله عنه صلى بمنى أربع ركعات فأنكره الناس عليه فقال يا أيها الناس إني تأهلت بمكة منذ قدمت وإني سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول من تأهل في بلد فليصل صلاة المقيم
