Uthman summoned a group of the companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, among them Ammar bin Yasir, and said, "I am going to ask you something, and I want you to be truthful with me. I implore you by Allah, do you know that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to give preference to Quraysh over all other people, and to Banu Hashim over the rest of Quraysh?"The group remained silent. Then Uthman said, "If the keys of Paradise were in my hand, I would give them to Banu Umaya until every last one of them entered."He then sent for Talha and Zubayr and said, "Shall I tell you about him?" meaning Ammar. "I was walking with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in the Bathaa, my hand in his, when he came upon Ammar's father and mother and upon Ammar himself, while they were being tortured. Abu Ammar said, 'Messenger of Allah, will it always be like this?' The Prophet ﷺ said to him, 'Be patient.' Then he said, 'O Allah, forgive the family of Yasir, and indeed I have done so.'"

Its isnad is daif because of a break in the chain. Salim bin Abu Jaad was a reliable successor who lived at a later time, and he did not meet Uthman. The Hafiz said in al-Isabah 3/174, "He did not meet Thawban, nor Abu Darda, nor Amr bin Abasa, let alone Uthman, let alone Umar, let alone Abu Bakr."As for Qasim bin Fadl, he is reliable. In manuscript H it appears as "Fudayl" in the diminutive form, which is a mistake. We have corrected it based on manuscripts K and H, since there is no narrator among the transmitters named Qasim bin Fudayl.
