While we were with him on Friday in the mosque of Kufa, with Ammar bin Yasir serving as governor of Kufa for Umar bin Khattab and Abdullah bin Masud in charge of the treasury, Abdullah bin Masud looked at the shadow and saw it was the length of a sandal strap.He said, "If your leader follows the practice of your Prophet ﷺ, he will come out now."By Allah, Abdullah bin Masud had not finished speaking when Ammar bin Yasir came out calling, "The prayer!"
حدثنا يعقوب حدثنا أبي عن ابن إسحاق حدثنا محمد بن كعب القرظي عمن حدثه
بينا نحن معه يوم الجمعة في مسجد الكوفة وعمار بن ياسر أمير على الكوفة لعمر بن الخطاب وعبد الله بن مسعود على بيت المال إذ نظر عبد الله بن مسعود إلى الظل فرآه قدر الشراك فقال إن يصب صاحبكم سنة نبيكم ﷺ يخرج الآن قال فوالله ما فرغ عبد الله بن مسعود من كلامه حتى خرج عمار بن ياسر يقول الصلاة

Its isnad is daif, due to the anonymity of the shaykh from whom Muhammad bin Kaab narrated. The hadith is in Majma al-Zawaid 2:183, where it is stated, "Ahmad narrated it, and it contains a man who is not named."
