The hadith was traced back to the Prophet ﷺ, who said, "Whoever lies about me deliberately, let him take his seat in Hellfire."
حدثنا عفان حدثنا أبو عوانة عن عاصم عن زر بن حبيش
رفع الحديث إلى النبي ﷺ قال من كذب علي متعمدا فليتبوأ مقعده من جهنم
Its isnad is sahih, and it is a repeat of 3847.
