He would sometimes narrate to us from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and he would falter and his color would change, saying, "It was like this, or close to this."

Its isnad is sahih. Firas, with a kasrah on the fa and a light ra, is Ibn Yahya al-Hamdani al-Kharifi al-Muktib, a trustworthy narrator among the companions of Shaybi. Bukhari mentioned him in al-Kabir 4/1/139. Amir is Shaybi. This hadith is a repetition of 4015 and an abridgement of 4321. Yakbu means to stumble the way someone who trips stumbles, or like the pause of a person before something he dislikes.
