The Prophet ﷺ went to relieve himself and ordered Ibn Masud to bring him three stones. He brought him two stones and a piece of dung. The Prophet ﷺ threw away the dung and said, "It is impure. Bring me another stone."

Its isnad is sahih, and it has already been mentioned through two other routes at 3685, 3966, and 4056, but without the addition found at the end here, "Bring me a stone," which is a sahih and established addition.Bayhaqi narrated it through this route (1:103), through Ishaq Hanzali, from Abdul-Razzaq. This route, the narration of Maamar from Abu Ishaq, from Alqama, was pointed to by Hafiz in the introduction to Fath al-Bari (346) among the routes he mentioned for this hadith, and Majd bin Taymiyyah also pointed to this addition in al-Muntaqa (162).
