Abdul-Rahman bin Yazid reported,

I performed the departure from Arafa with Ibn Masud. When he reached Muzdalifa, he prayed Maghrib and Isha, each with its own adhan and iqama, with the evening meal between them. Then he slept until someone announced that dawn had broken, whereupon he prayed Fajr.Then he said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said that these two prayers are delayed from their usual times in this place. As for Maghrib, people do not arrive here until nightfall, and as for Fajr, this is its time."Then he stood in supplication. When the light began to spread, he said, "If the Commander of the Believers proceeds now, he will have done what is right." Abdullah had not finished speaking when Uthman set off.

حدثنا عبد الرزاق أخبرنا إسرائيل عن أبي إسحاق

عن عبد الرحمن بن يزيد قال

أفضت مع ابن مسعود من عرفة فلما جاء المزدلفة صلى المغرب والعشاء كل واحدة منهما بأذان وإقامة وجعل بينهما العشاء ثم نام فلما قال قائل طلع الفجر صلى الفجر ثم قال إن رسول الله ﷺ قال إن هاتين الصلاتين أخرتا عن وقتهما في هذا المكان أما المغرب فإن الناس لا يأتون هاهنا حتى يعتموا وأما الفجر فهذا الحين ثم وقف فلما أسفر قال إن أصاب أمير المؤمنين دفع الآن قال فما فرغ عبد الله من كلامه حتى دفع عثمان
