Rabah reported,

My family married me to a Roman slave-girl of theirs. I had relations with her, and she bore me a black boy like myself, so I named him Abdullah. Then I had relations with her again, and she bore me another black boy like myself, so I named him Ubaydullah. Then a Roman slave-boy belonging to my family, called Yuhannas, became infatuated with her and spoke to her in his own language. She then bore a boy who looked like a little gecko.I asked her, "What is this?"She said, "He belongs to Yuhannas."So we brought the matter before the Commander of the Faithful, Uthman .Mahdi said, I think he said, he questioned the two of them, and they both confessed. Uthman then said, "Are you both content that I judge between you with the judgment of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ? The Messenger of Allah ﷺ ruled that the child belongs to the marriage bed, and for the fornicator is the stone."Mahdi said, I think he said, he had her flogged and him flogged, and they were both slaves.

عن رباح قال

زوجني أهلي أمة لهم رومية فوقعت عليها فولدت لي غلاما أسود مثلي فسميته عبد الله ثم وقعت عليها فولدت لي غلاما أسود مثلي فسميته عبيد الله ثم طبن لها غلام لأهلي رومي يقال له يوحنس فراطنها بلسانه قال فولدت غلاما كأنه وزغة من الوزغات فقلت لها ما هذا قالت هو ليوحنس قال فرفعنا إلى أمير المؤمنين عثمان رضي الله عنه قال مهدي أحسبه قال سألهما فاعترفا فقال أترضيان أن أقضي بينكما بقضاء رسول الله ﷺ قال فإن رسول الله ﷺ قضى أن الولد للفراش وللعاهر الحجر قال مهدي وأحسبه قال جلدها وجلده وكانا مملوكين
