Abdullah bin Masud reported,

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ distributed something, and a man from the Ansar said, "This distribution was not made seeking the face of Allah ."Abdullah said, "Enemy of Allah, I will surely tell the Messenger of Allah ﷺ what you have said."He said, I mentioned that to the Prophet ﷺ, and his face turned red. He said, "May the mercy of Allah be upon Musa. He was harmed with more than this, yet he remained patient."

حدثنا أبو معاوية حدثنا الأعمش عن أبي وائل

عن عبد الله قال

قسم رسول الله ﷺ قسما قال فقال رجل من الأنصار إن هذه القسمة ما أريد بها وجه الله عز وجل قال عبد الله يا عدو الله أما لأخبرن رسول الله ﷺ بما قلت قال فذكرت ذلك للنبي ﷺ فاحمر وجهه وقال رحمة الله على موسى قد أوذي بأكثر من هذا فصبر
