Abdullah bin Masud reported,

To swear nine times that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was killed is more beloved to me than to swear once that he was not, for indeed Allah made him a prophet and took him as a martyr.The narrator said, I mentioned this to Ibrahim, and he said, "They used to hold the view and say that the Jews poisoned him and Abu Bakr ."

حدثنا عبد الرحمن عن سفيان عن الأعمش عن عبد الله بن مرة عن أبي الأحوص

عن عبد الله قال

لأن أحلف تسعا أن رسول الله ﷺ قتل قتلا أحب إلي من أن أحلف واحدة أنه لم يقتل وذلك أن الله عز وجل جعله نبيا واتخذه شهيدا قال فذكرت ذلك لإبراهيم فقال كانوا يرون ويقولون إن اليهود سموه وأبا بكر رضي الله عنه
