A Jew came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "Muhammad, Allah holds the heavens on one finger, the earths on one finger, the mountains on one finger, all creatures on one finger, and the trees on one finger, then He says, I am the King."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ laughed until his back teeth showed, and he recited "They have not appraised Allah with the appraisal due to Him" [Zumar 39:67].Yahya said that Fudayl, meaning Ibn Iyad, said that this was out of wonder at what the man said and in affirmation of him.
حدثنا يحيى بن سعيد عن سفيان حدثني منصور وسليمان عن إبراهيم عن عبيدة
أن يهوديا أتى النبي ﷺ فقال يا محمد إن الله يمسك السموات على إصبع والأرضين على إصبع والجبال على إصبع والخلائق على إصبع والشجر على إصبع ثم يقول أنا الملك فضحك رسول الله ﷺ حتى بدت نواجذه وقال {وما قدروا الله حق قدره} قال يحيى وقال فضيل يعني ابن عياض تعجبا وتصديقا له
