Abdullah bin Masud reported,

When we prayed behind the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, one of us would say in his prayer, "Peace be upon Allah, peace be upon so-and-so," singling out individuals.So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to us one day, "Allah Himself is Peace. When one of you sits during his prayer, let him say, 'All greetings, prayers, and good things are for Allah. Peace be upon you, Prophet, and the mercy of Allah and His blessings. Peace be upon us and upon the righteous servants of Allah.' When you say this, you will have greeted every righteous servant in the heavens and the earth. 'I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and messenger.' Then he may choose whatever supplication he wishes or whichever he likes."

عن عبد الله قال

كنا إذا صلينا خلف رسول الله ﷺ يقول الرجل منا في صلاته السلام على الله السلام على فلان يخص فقال لنا رسول الله ﷺ ذات يوم إن الله عز وجل هو السلام فإذا قعد أحدكم في صلاته فليقل التحيات لله والصلوات والطيبات السلام عليك أيها النبي ورحمة الله وبركاته السلام علينا وعلى عباد الله الصالحين فإذا قلتم ذلك فقد سلمتم على كل عبد في السموات والأرض أشهد أن لا إله إلا الله وأشهد أن محمدا عبده ورسوله ثم يتخير بعد من الدعاء ما شاء أو ما أحب
