I came to the Prophet ﷺ while he was in a red tent. Abdul-Malik said it was made of leather. He was with about forty men. He said, "Victory will be opened up for you, you will be given divine help, and you will achieve your aims. So whoever among you lives to see that, let him fear Allah, command what is right, forbid what is wrong, and maintain ties with his relatives. Whoever lies about me deliberately, let him take his seat in the Fire. The one who helps his people in something other than the truth is like a camel that has fallen into a well and is being pulled out by its tail."
حدثنا عبد الملك بن عمرو ومؤمل قالا حدثنا سفيان عن سماك عن عبد الرحمن
انتهيت إلى النبي ﷺ وهو في قبة حمراء قال عبد الملك من أدم في نحو من أربعين رجلا فقال إنكم مفتوح عليكم منصورون ومصيبون فمن أدرك ذلك منكم فليتق الله وليأمر بالمعروف ولينه عن المنكر وليصل رحمه من كذب علي متعمدا فليتبوأ مقعده من النار ومثل الذي يعين قومه على غير الحق كمثل بعير ردي في بئر فهو ينزع منها بذنبه
